Colts Face Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – NFL Week 10

Hello, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Everything good I trust on this fine early start to week 10 coming straight outta Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the powerful Colts (seven wins and two losses) take on the Atlanta Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on soil in Germany and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pregame Highlights

As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A minor slip from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

So, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a rough one in Pittsburgh?

Not to be outdone the singer belting out the Star Spangled Banner has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the national anthem of Germany. Classy.

First Quarter Gameplay

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

And we're off! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to recover the fumble with the recovery. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver fails to catch a fastball from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a massive tackle on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their string of three losses. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

A disappointing start but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is hunted down and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. The placekicker misses the point after attempt. Mistake.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a score of their own. Drake London makes some chunky receptions to put them in the red zone then the defense opens up for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Additional Tenth Week Matchups

Additionally, the jumbo package starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (home teams listed first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Chicago Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Cleveland Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers v New England Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. My pick for the best game is Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the game of the day.
