Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
